The Samsung Galaxy S26 series was introduced in India earlier this year, in February. The regular Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ were revealed using the company's own Exynos 2600 processor, which is said to be the first mobile chip created with a 2nm manufacturing process. Although only a few months have gone by since the launch of these top-of-the-line phones, news about their next versions has already begun to appear online. A Samsung official has allegedly confirmed that the company has started developing the Exynos 2700 processor, which is anticipated to be used in certain models of the Samsung Galaxy S27 series. According to a report from Korea Economic Daily, Park Yong-In, who is the President of Samsung's System LSI division, has disclosed that work on the new mobile processor, the Exynos 2700, has begun, replacing the Exynos 2600 SoC. The company representative reportedly shared this information during an internal meeting on Thursday. The report goes on to say that the executive mentioned that the process of creating the Exynos 2700 chipset is “going smoothly without issues. ”
Samsung's semiconductor branch is said to be focusing on bringing the Exynos 2700 chipset to “high-end smartphones. ” Set to be released next year, the Samsung Galaxy S27 series may be among the first devices to use the new Exynos chip. Conversely, the company executive also indicated that Samsung's semiconductor division might face financial losses due to a predicted downturn in the industry caused by a shortage of memory and storage chips. This comes shortly after the Exynos 2700 chipset was allegedly seen on the Geekbench benchmarking site, identified with the model number S5E9975. Reportedly, the Exynos 2700 SoC will have a 10-core setup, including one Cluster 1 core clocked at 2.30GHz, four Cluster 2 cores at 2.40GHz, one Cluster 3 core at 2.78GHz, and four Cluster 4 cores that can reach a maximum speed of 2.88GHz.
The Exynos 2700 mobile chip is expected to work alongside an Xclipse 970 GPU. The listing indicated about 10.80GB of RAM, which is likely to be marketed as 12GB of RAM by the company. The device using the Exynos 2700 chipset achieved a score of 2,603 in Geekbench's single-core test and 10,350 in the multi-core test. It was also noted to be using the latest version of Android, known as Android 17.
